Updates to staff webpages: HR guidance, new vaccination FAQs
Our staff webpages now have a focus on preparing for a return to campus.
The University continues to follow guidance from Government and the four-step approach in line with the Government’s easing of restrictions. You can find out what this means for Sussex staff in each step, including information about what will be open.
As more staff begin to return to campus it’s important to familiarise yourself with the recently updated HR guidance, and specific guidelines on our updated health and safety pages.
As soon as the University receives updated guidance from Government, we will share information on the fuller return to campus anticipated from Thursday 1 July.
Testing on campus
If you are returning to campus it’s important to book in for regular Covid-19 tests - all staff who need to work on campus can be tested up to twice a week.
You can make a booking for a test on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at any time from 10am to 3pm.
Our University Covid-19 test centre has recently moved to level 1 of Bramber House, in Dine Central. View photo gallery of the new test centre. It will operate there until the end of June, testing for staff and students without symptoms.
Anyone with a new cough, a high temperature or changes in their sense of smell or taste should instead self-isolate and arrange for a home test kit to be delivered. Read more information about testing on campus.
Vaccinations
There is also guidance from the HR team on vaccinations – including arrangements for vaccine appointments and sickness absence. The University strongly encourages employees to take part in the vaccination programme against Covid-19, in line with government guidance.
We understand that it is ultimately each individual's personal choice, but we request all of our employees to make a fully informed decision on whether to accept the Covid-19 vaccine.
