Returning to campus
On Monday 5 April, the UK Government outlined the latest set of guidance for easing lockdown restrictions from Monday 12 April. This didn’t include new guidance for universities, but as soon as there is any information to share for Sussex students and staff, we will do so at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime please read the information and guidance on the staff webpages.
Getting tested on campus
The test centre on campus is there for staff at the University who need to come on to campus to work, and all Sussex students. All staff who need to work on campus can be tested up to twice a week until at least the end of April.
Read about the testing process from the perspective of staff who are volunteering at the test centre. We recently spoke to staff about their experience of testing staff and students in the sports centre. There’s also a photo gallery to guide you through it.
You can book tests on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at any time from 10.00 am - 3.00 pm. These times will be expanded as demand for testing increases.
Sport during lockdown
Sussexsport will reopen the Falmer Sports Complex fitness rooms from Monday 12 April, with Covid-secure procedures in place to ensure that staff have a safe and enjoyable experience. The Sport Centre remains closed for recreational use to facilitate the University's testing programme.
The Stay Home With US programme of online classes, blogs and downloadable home workouts is continuing too, so it's easy to keep moving and stay connected - even if you're not back on campus yet. The Sussex community can take advantage of live classes, on-demand sessions, downloadable workouts and expert advice – and even deskercise tips for those working from home. All you need to take part is a University of Sussex, BSMS or IDS email. View the latest class timetable.
