Tuesday 26 November 18:00 until 19:30
University of Sussex Campus : Fulton B Lecture Theatre
Speaker: Dr Rhys Morgan
Part of the series: Sussex Universe
Blood cancers are a devastating group of diseases which affect all ages and can have poor survival rates. Leukaemias typically require urgent medical intervention to avoid bone marrow failure. This can involve highly toxic chemotherapies which fail to eradicate the disease. Improved treatments are required that target specific molecular abnormalities in each patient. Signalling molecules are an attractive area of study since they are frequently hijacked by cancer cells to bring about abnormal growth or survival.
