Dr Antony W. Oliver
Senior Research Fellow (Faculty)
My laboratory seeks to investigate and understand the often complex mechanisms underpinning the processes of DNA damage detection, signalling and repair in cells. We principally use structural biology techniques and methods, i.e. X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy, complemented with a wide-range of other techniques from the disciplines of biophysics, biochemistry and bioinformatics.
Our studies also provide the means for discovery and development of novel small-molecule inhibitors with application as drugs for the treatment of cancer and other important diseases.
My laboratory is situated in the Genome Damage and Stability Centre, adjacent to the School of Life Sciences, on the east side of the University Campus.
