Beach end at Ault looking west along the cliffs. Light coloured band on the shore platform is a path supposedly created by the Germany during WWII as a quick transport route along the cliffs at low tide.

East of the terminal groyne at Ault cliff protection measures have been installed in the form of a large block ridge protecting the eastern part of Ault and the proximal part of the neck of the spit.
