How can food systems be democratized and food security strengthened? 

This SSRP seminar confronts these pressing questions, which will be crucial for a sustainable, just future.  

Visiting Fellow Dr Miseong Cho, Senior Researcher at the Mosim and Salim Research Institute and Guest Lecturer at Seoul National University, presents a paper entitled: ‘Collective Transformative Learning for Socio-ecological Transformation in Food Systems – a Case Study of the Hansalim Life Movement’. 

Dr Cho will share findings from her case study of the Hansalim Life Movement and the Cooperative Federation at its centre. With over 800,000 members, Hansalim is Korea's largest multi-stakeholder food cooperative and brings producers and consumers together in a unique example of economic democracy for sustainable food and farming.  

This is followed by a panel discussion with Dr Cho and SSRP Fellows Dr Jonathan Dolley and Dr Adrian Ely. Join us for what promises to be an eye-opening insight into the past and present of food systems and security.
