As is typical in the Dalziel archive, many corrective annotations have simply been trimmed off at the margin before the proof was stuck in the album. An interesting partial comment about printing remains legible at the bottom of this one: ‘… parts of this seem clogged with ink which renders it…’ – the rest is missing. The designer of the print is Thomas Dalziel, a brother of the firm. It makes sense that he would have more insight into printing effects than many other draughtsmen.
