This year, the Turner Prize - the world’s leading prize in contemporary art - is being hosted at Towner Eastbourne, and the University of Sussex is Education Partner.
On Tuesday 5 December, Jesse Darling was announced as the winner of the Turner Prize 2023. Darling picked up the award and £25,000 at the ceremony held in Eastbourne’s Winter Gardens.
Nominated for his solo exhibitions ‘No Medals, No Ribbons’, his winning installation at Towner Eastbourne explores borders, bodies, nationhood and exclusion.
The exhibition of all four shortlisted artists at Towner Eastbourne runs until 14 April 2024, and you can visit for free, from Tuesdays to Sundays, 10am-5pm.
One of our student Digital Media Creators also shared her recent trip to the exhibition in a video on the University of Sussex Instagram page (@Sussexuni).
